The Neanthebella Palm (Chamaedorea elegans), commonly known as the Parlor Palm, is a graceful, slow-growing tropical palm prized for its lush, feathery foliage and ability to thrive indoors. Its slender green stems resemble bamboo, topped with arching fronds that carry narrow, lance-shaped leaflets, creating an elegant, airy appearance. The plant is often grown as a cluster, giving it a fuller look, and occasionally produces small yellow flowers indoors, though its ornamental appeal lies mainly in its foliage. Adaptable and tolerant of lower light conditions, the Neanthebella Palm remains a favorite for homes, offices, and greenhouses due to its ease of care and tropical charm. (Pot sold separately)

  • Size Height: Typically 2–6 ft indoors (can reach up to 10 ft in ideal greenhouse or outdoor tropical conditions). Spread: 2–3 ft
  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but tolerates low light; avoid direct sun, which can scorch leaves.
  • Water: Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy; allow the top inch to dry out between waterings.
  • Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity; mist occasionally in dry indoor air.
  • Temperature: Best in 65–80°F (18–27°C); avoid drafts and cold air.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix rich in organic matter.
  • Fertilizer: Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer; reduce in fall and winter.
  • Pruning: Remove yellow or brown fronds at the base to maintain appearance.
  • Repotting: Infrequent; prefers being slightly root-bound—repot every 2–3 years if necessary.
