Begonia Reiger is known for its beautiful and showy flowers that come in various colors, including shades of pink, red, white, and orange. With proper care, they can bloom for extended periods, providing a burst of color and beauty to your indoor space. Pot sold separately.

  1. Size: Begonia Reiger typically reaches a height of about 8 to 12 inches (20 to 30 cm) and has a similar spread. These dimensions make them a relatively small to medium-sized houseplant.
  2. Light Requirements: Begonia Reiger thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid exposing them to direct sunlight, as it can scorch their delicate foliage. They can also tolerate some shade but will not bloom as profusely in low-light conditions.
  3. Temperature: Keep your Begonia Reiger in a room with temperatures between 65°F to 75°F (18°C to 24°C) during the day. They can tolerate slightly cooler temperatures at night, but avoid exposing them to drafts or extreme temperature fluctuations.
  4. Watering: These begonias prefer consistently moist soil. Water them when the top inch (2.5 cm) of the soil feels dry to the touch. Be cautious not to overwater, as they are susceptible to root rot. Always use a well-draining potting mix and ensure that the pot has drainage holes.
  5. Humidity: Begonia Reiger appreciates higher humidity levels. You can increase humidity by misting the plant regularly or placing a tray of water with pebbles near the plant. Avoid placing them near heating or cooling vents, which can reduce humidity.
  6. Fertilizing: Feed your Begonia Reiger with a balanced, liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength every 2-4 weeks during the growing season (spring through early autumn). Reduce or stop fertilizing during the dormant winter months.
  7. Pruning: Regularly remove dead or yellowing leaves and spent flowers to encourage new growth and better flowering.
  8. Repotting: Begonia Reiger generally doesn't require frequent repotting. Repot when the plant becomes root-bound or outgrows its container, typically every 2-3 years.
