‘Boreal Beauty’ is a hardy, deciduous honeyberry cultivar with an upright, vase-shaped habit and dense branching. The foliage is soft green and oval, emerging early in spring, followed by small, creamy-yellow, lightly fragrant flowers that are highly attractive to pollinators. The standout feature is its exceptionally large, deep blue berries with a waxy bloom, ripening in early summer. The fruit is elongated to oval, juicy, and sweet-tart, excellent for fresh eating or processing.

  • Size: Height: 1.5–1.8 m (5–6 ft). Spread: 1.2–1.5 m (4–5 ft). Growth habit: Upright to slightly spreading shrub
  • Light: Full sun to partial shade (best fruiting in full sun)
  • Soil: Well-drained, organically rich soil; tolerates clay if not waterlogged
  • Water: Moderate; keep consistently moist, especially during establishment and fruit development
  • Hardiness: Extremely cold-hardy (USDA Zone 2–7)
  • Pollination: Requires a compatible honeyberry variety for cross-pollination (e.g., ‘Boreal Beast’ or ‘Boreal Blizzard’)
  • Pruning: Minimal; remove dead or crossing wood after fruiting or in late winter
  • Maintenance: Low; mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds
