Valentine cherry (Prunus cerasus ‘Valentine’) is a compact, cold-hardy sour cherry developed for northern climates. It forms a naturally rounded, shrub-like tree with glossy dark green leaves and masses of fragrant white blossoms in spring. The fruit is medium-sized, bright red, and borne in clusters along the branches. Cherries ripen in mid to late summer and have a balanced tart-sweet flavor well suited to fresh eating, baking, preserves, and juice. Its tidy habit and ornamental appeal make it suitable for both home gardens and edible landscapes.
