Valiant is the most cold-resistant of all grape varieties. It tastes sweet and tart, somewhat similar to the popular Concord grape. Ready for picking late August to mid-September. Excellent for fresh eating, as well as for juice, jams and jellies. It grows in small clusters. The skin of the grape is relatively thick and very dark blue, almost black. It is slipskin (does not adhere to the pulp). It is quite firm and gelatinous in texture, with seeds. As this is a vine provide something for the plant to climb on. Fast growing
