Lavender ‘Munstead’ is one of the most widely grown English lavenders, valued for its compact habit, strong fragrance, and excellent cold tolerance. This classic variety forms a tidy mound of narrow, gray-green aromatic foliage topped with spikes of lavender-blue flowers in early to mid-summer. The blooms are highly attractive to bees and butterflies and are commonly used for dried flowers, culinary herbs, and fragrant garden borders. ‘Munstead’ is considered one of the hardiest lavenders, making it a reliable choice for northern climates when planted in well-drained soil and full sun.
