The Dropmore Linden typically grows to a height of around 20 to 30 feet (6 to 9 meters) with a spread of about 15 to 25 feet (4.5 to 7.5 meters). It has a dense, rounded crown and a symmetrical shape. The leaves are heart-shaped, dark green in color, and have serrated edges. During the summer, the tree is adorned with clusters of fragrant pale yellow flowers that attract bees and other pollinators. The flowers are followed by small, nut-like fruits that persist into winter.

  • Planting: Choose a location with well-draining soil and full to partial sunlight exposure for your Dropmore Linden. Dig a hole that is slightly larger than the root ball and plant the tree at the same depth as it was in the nursery container. Ensure good soil contact around the roots and water thoroughly after planting.
  • Watering: Provide regular watering to keep the soil evenly moist, especially during the tree's establishment period. Once established, Dropmore Linden is moderately drought-tolerant but will benefit from occasional deep watering during dry spells.
  • Pruning: Prune your Dropmore Linden during late winter or early spring when the tree is dormant. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches to improve air circulation and maintain a balanced shape. Avoid heavy pruning as this may reduce flowering.
  • Fertilization: Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring to promote healthy growth. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the appropriate dosage based on the size and age of the tree.
  • Mulching: Apply a layer of organic mulch around the base of the tree, keeping it a few inches away from the trunk. Mulching helps retain moisture, suppresses weed growth, and insulates the soil.
