Assiniboine poplar is a tall shade tree which is suitable for farmstead shelterbelt planting on the Canadian prairies. The poplar has superior hardiness and is relatively fast growing. It has rich green foliage growing in an oval habit of growth. The heart shaped leaves turn yellow in the fall.
