Autumn Joy Sedum (Hylotelephium 'Herbstfreude')
A true workhorse of the perennial garden, Autumn Joy Sedum delivers four seasons of interest with remarkable ease. In spring, fleshy, blue-green succulent foliage emerges in tidy, upright mounds, providing bold texture through summer. By late summer, flat-topped flower heads emerge in soft pink, deepening to rich rose and finally to a warm, rusty copper-red by autumn — a stunning progression that few perennials can match. The dried seed heads persist through winter, adding structural interest and providing valuable food for overwintering birds. Beloved by bees and butterflies, it is a pollinator magnet at a time when few other plants are in bloom.
