Assorted succulents encompass a diverse group of fleshy-leaved plants adapted to store water in their leaves, stems, or roots. They display a wide range of forms—from tight, symmetrical rosettes such as Echeveria, to upright paddle-shaped foliage like Kalanchoe, trailing bead-like stems such as Senecio rowleyanus, and architectural, spined forms like Aloe. Foliage may be powdery blue-gray, deep green, burgundy, or variegated, often with a waxy or matte finish that reduces moisture loss. Many produce striking flowers on tall stalks or clusters, typically in shades of pink, orange, red, or yellow. Their sculptural shapes and drought tolerance make them ideal for containers, dish gardens, and bright interior spaces.

  • Size: Height: 5–30 cm (2–12 in) for most rosette types; trailing or upright varieties may reach 30–60 cm (12–24 in). Spread: 5–45 cm (2–18 in) depending on species and maturity
  • Light: Bright, indirect light; some varieties tolerate several hours of direct sun. Insufficient light leads to stretching (etiolation).
  • Water: Allow soil to dry completely between waterings; reduce watering significantly in winter. Avoid water sitting in rosettes.
  • Soil: Well-draining cactus or succulent mix with added perlite or coarse sand.
  • Temperature: Prefer 18–27°C; most are not frost hardy and require protection below 10°C.
  • Fertilizer: Light feeding with diluted, balanced fertilizer during active growth (spring/summer).
